Star Center is an outpatient treatment program that was founded in 1994 and is specialized in the treatment of opiate addiction. Our dedicated team consists of Physicians, Social Workers, Nurses, Counselors and Support Staff that are trained and credentialed in this field.
Many of us are related to or unfortunately are experiencing dependency to drugs. Our country is going through a horrible opioid epidemic.
Our agency offers a multi-disciplinary approach to not only the diagnosis, but also to the treatment of addiction. Our focus is on our patient as an individual centering on their needs and desires. We pride ourselves with our compassionate treatment team. Quality care is our highest priority.
Upon entering our agency each patient participates in an assessment, so we can identify the needs of the individual. This will include the patient’s drug history, medical history, criminal, and educational background as well as evaluation of the patient’s mental status.
For those patients who are under the care of a physician for medical reasons, we coordinate care with their primary doctor. Patients with co-occurring physical or mental disorders are treated or referred to the appropriate medical provider. Coordination of care is very important in these cases as it aligns with our person-centered philosophy.
All patients are seen by our physician who completes a medical examination. Blood work and urine samples are also obtained.
Individualized treatment plans are written to meet the needs of each patient and are reviewed every sixty days. The patients are also re-evaluated by our physicians every sixty days and annually.

Methadone is the most effective form of treatment for those addicted to heroin and other opiates. While the drug itself is addictive, daily use prevents withdrawal symptoms and the irresistible need that compels individuals to continue their drug use. Methadone is proven to suppress the drug hunger for heroin and other opiates.
Patients on methadone function very well in today’s society. They can be the waiter, bank teller, or corporate executive. Because of methadone, many people have regained control over their lives and obtained freedom from physical dependence from narcotics.
